`James Maxwell's plan for the conversion of the House at Baliscate into a schoolroom is passed by Mr Thomas Telford and approved of by the British Society.

A house at Baliscate is used as a school, a Mr Mathieson came under the auspices of the SPCK to teach about 50 scholars in a house at Baliscate.  The house though in need of some repair to the thatched roof was considered well situated by the teacher.
